Showing Love for Black Travel: Too Fly Dallas
The Too Fly Foundation kicked off the decade with an intimate, but still CreativeLIT fundraiser in our hometown of Dallas, Texas! With the goal of galvanizing a community and cultivating a passion for global travel and curiosity, the #TooFlyCrew leveraged the ‘month of love’ to highlight a love for travel but to also celebrate Black faces in many places during Black History Month.
A staple of Too Fly Fundraisers is the mix of community, culture, music, art and technology. Our partners, Joie Promos & Samsung provided a Samsung activation & photo booth highlighting the Samsung S20 phone and donation station with the newest Samsung gadgets. In addition, JoAnn Emale, founder of Joie Promos, provided a demo room for Maskee - her new patented invention revolutionizing “beauty on the go.”
We toasted to our donors and celebrated a love of travel thanks to our open bar provided exclusively by Austin-based Dulce Vida Tequila and vibed to the sounds of DJ Nitecrawler our longstanding partner and DJ for Too Fly.
Thanks to the support and donations online and at the event we were able to raise over $1,250 - enough to sponsor 9 passports and in turn impact the lives of 9 students.
Ensuring that we continue to sew seeds in our local, Dallas community the funds raised at this Too Fly Dallas event will go directly to our scholarship pool dedicated to Barack Obama Male Leadership Academy a magnet secondary school for boys located in the Oak Cliff area of Dallas, Texas whose goal is to develop young men into impactful leaders through the development of their intellectual, moral, physical, social and emotional skills for the global society of tomorrow.
