A REFLECTION ON 2022

I attempt to sum up Too Fly's year in one word every year. For 2022, there is only one word that comes to mind-- growth. Too Fly's vision is to broaden the horizons of the next generation of youth. In the same spirit, our organization also reached new heights and broke new ground.

In 2022, Too Fly quadrupled its giving to our underrepresented and underresourced youth as we gave out $50,000 in passport and travel grant kits. We helped over 150 students become equipped with new luggage, travel accessories, and educational resources to prepare for their upcoming adventures. We doubled our grassroots support, including raising over $20,000 in grassroots fundraising in our Dallas and New York supporting states alone.

Remember that program we created in 2020 during the uncertainty of a global panic? Our Travel@Home learning experience has also continued to reach new heights. Travel@Home impacted 20 students through our summer pipeline program in Dallas.

Don't forget the new partnerships that have got on board with the Too Fly mission, including American Airlines, Dallas Mavericks, Battleface Insurance, and TravelPro Products. Last but not least, Too Fly's name and mission have also reached a wider audience. We were featured on many platforms including Skift and Dallas Morning News. And in case you also missed it--our coolest moment in 2022 was being invited to the Kelly Clarkson Show, alongside the great Tyler Perry. As Too Fly enters its seventh year of impact, we keep growing. But our mission remains the same--creating a world where every student is inspired and equipped to see the world. Thank you for growing with us. Thank you for continuing to be a part of the Too Fly journey. Oh the places we will go...and grow...together!

GIVING TO THE TOO FLY FOUNDATION

A Too Fly Travel Grant is an experience in itself. We are not only providing monetary support for our scholars, but also travel luggage, travel accessories, and resources from how to protect themselves when abroad to how to exchange currency. We are fully equipping and empowering our youth to conquer the world.

Please help us make our travel grant KITS impactful. When you donate, your contribution assures that we can provide this FULL experience to our youth. If you are a travel product company, we always need special elements of kits-- such as wireless headphones, custom luggage tags and passport holders, portable chargers, neck pillows, print copies of our resources, and more. Reach out to outreach@tooflyfoundation.org to collaborate with us today!

The Too Fly Foundation's co-founders, Brandon & Bola joined Kelly Clarkson, Tyler Perry, and Parker Young on the Kelly Clarkson Show to share the heart of the Too Fly Foundation. Outside of sharing their stories and the "Too Fly Why," they heard from their past grant recipient and received a $100K Surprise to support Underserved Students’ Opportunities To Travel Abroad.

THE TRAVEL@HOME PIPELINE PROGRAM

We thoroughly enjoyed our partnership with the Dallas Mavericks Take Action Team and For Oak Cliff. With the NBA being the home of many international athletes, coaches, and staff members we wanted to showcase the various cultures, food, languages, and dances of several of the Dallas Mavs players. The excitement, engagement, and impact this experience had on the For Oak Cliff students is what Too Fly Foundation is all about specifically, sparking global curiosity for students who typically would not get exposure.

This experience highlights the importance of strategic partnerships with organizations like the Dallas Mavs and For Oak Cliff because we enable our students to learn about some of their favorite athlete's cultures and diverse perspectives. Several students who enrolled in our programming said they wanted to experience even more countries in our Travel@Home program! The enthusiasm and passion from our students showcased the importance of this program and partnership.

"The Mavs Take ACTION! team wanted to work with Too Fly because of the innovative aspect of bringing these travel experiences to students who may not have had the opportunity to do so. We want to be sure that all students have equal opportunities and are exposed to programs like Too Fly. We loved being able to create the “Mavs Tour” to allow students to virtuaLlY travel and get an immersive experience from countries their favorite Mavs players are from like Slovenia, Germany, and Australia."

CHANGING THE WORLD WITH OUR PARTNERS

Looking back on the roller-coaster journey that was 2022, we want to share the deepest amount of gratitude with our partners and passport donors and say - THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! Everything that we accomplish is because of the continued support from the entire Too Fly Family (yes, y’all are family to us!).

As we started to gain some sense of optimism for a return to normalcy this past year...BOOM "World War 3", "economic uncertainty", “rising inflation” and "looming recession" started to dominate the news cycle. And despite the huge impacts all of the external and global macro-economic shifts have had on companies and Individual's finances and lives overall, our donors and partners still found it in their hearts to support the Too Fly mission in various ways. Because of you and your contributions, we were able to impact more than twice as many students this year!

We exceeded the goals we had originally set and we saw our network grow to new parts of the country. Because people are talking about the Too Fly mission, it is resonating with communities nationwide. As we continue to grow and have success, we want you to celebrate all of our wins and milestones with us because none of this is possible without your support.

Let’s see if we can continue to raise the bar and impact even more students in 2023. With your help, we’ll continue to advance toward the goal of creating a world where every student has the opportunity to travel; one student at a time. With Love, The Too Fly Team

Too Fly has hosted grassroot fundraisers in numerous cities in the United States, including Dallas, New York, Chicago and more. All funds raised have continued to equip students with passport and travel monetary grants, new luggage, travel accessories, educational resources to prepare students for their trips and more. With the support of American Airlines, Too Fly is empowered to continue its fundraising efforts as well as well as provide travel expense relief for its scholars.

“Our company strives to bridge the gaps of inequity within the travel industry. This is why American Airlines is excited to partner with the Too Fly Foundation. This organization has introduced the world of travel to youth who do not have the exposure or financial privilege to do so on their own.”

With TravelPro, we successfully completed multiple online and social campaigns, provided dozens of kids with travel luggage and were able to have a substantial impact in our overall fundraising goal.

“Travelpro has been proud to support Too Fly Foundation in its mission to educate and provide resources for aspiring young travelers. We believe that youths from all backgrounds deserve the opportunity to travel and expand their minds through first-hand experiences. Traveling is important as it teaches how to see the world from a new point of view by submerging oneself into new cultures and environments. Ultimately, helping future generations create more unified communities built on understanding and embracing social differences.”

dune7

The Too Fly Foundation is also excited to announce our partnership with Dune7, a digital strategy and brand marketing agency serving clients who sit at the intersection of technology, travel, and sustainability, and are reinventing the way we experience and move about the world. Since 2021 Dune7 has partnered with Too Fly Providing partnership strategy and trade communications efforts by expanding our roster of strategic partners throughout the travel industry.

“Working across many different verticals in the travel industry, it's easy to see the imbalance when it comes to traveler demographics. We strongly believe that everyone should benefit from exposure to global travel, and that's why we're so honored to count the Too Fly Foundation as a partner. We were immediately impressed by their mission and vision and it's been wonderful watching the organization go from strength to strength.”

MAKING TRAVEL CONTAGIOUS THROUGH THE TOO FLY FUNDRAISER

When we started the too fly foundation, originally the “too fly fundraiser” we had a simple mission, to bring together like-minded travel enthusiasts and those interested in learning about travel together to help pass on that spirit to the next generation. in our formative years, we traveled the country “pouring for passports," and through that, we helped students see a world bigger than themselves.

the too fly fundraiser will always be at the foundation of who we are, we find it extremely important to intentionally create a groundswell of grassroots support and investment because that is what catalyzes the heart of the too fly foundation.

in 2022, we were able to host a digital too fly fundraising campaign, a fundraiser in Dallas, Texas as well as new york city. through that, we were able to raise OVER $20,000 through friends, family, and local believers of the too fly vision. as we look at the future, we are excited to grow the breadth of the too fly fundraisers impact - connecting with new cities, local companies, travel organizations, artists, and community members to ensure the spirit of the too fly foundation lives on.

a glimpse of the too fly fundraiser

THROUGH OUR TOO FLY FUNDRAISERS WE WERE ABLE TO RAISE $17,913 IN 2022!

 in 2023…

Too Fly is on a mission of raising $500,000 to reach a level of impact we have never seen before.

Perhaps you are someone who is familiar with the world of travel.

Perhaps you are like many of our scholars who never had the gift of travel until your later adulthood.

Whatever your personal experience may be, we hope that you will join us in creating new learning experiences for the next generation of leaders and thought thinkers.

so with that being said…

we ask for two things: get on board and invite new passengers. Give and consider setting up a recurring donation! Then after you give, maximize your advocacy.

Share your donation to Too Fly on your social media platforms, match your donation through your company, invite your co-workers to do an internal fundraising campaign, or perhaps host your own Too Fly Fundraiser.

There are many ways to help us reach new heights and help our youth see the world.
